Thermopylae Ship Plans

I recently won a old revell 1/96th ship scale clipper thermopylae kit on ebay. the kit is a virtual copy of their 1/96th cutty sark with a few modifications. dr. tilly pointed out that the kit has a large hatch between the raised poop deck and the main mast that is fictional and replaces the cutty. The ship, which was christened "the thermopylae" by mrs hardy robinson of denmore, has been throughout constructed after the most approved principles, built of the most durable materials, and classed in the highest range of character at lloyds.. The thermopylae was an extreme composite clipper ship built in 1868 by walter hood & co of aberdeen. she was rigged with royal sails, single top-gallant and double top-sails. thermopylae was designed for the china tea trade, and set speed records on her maiden voyage to melbourne - 63 days, still the fastest trip under sail..
